In this episode I speak with Joel Polley, RN, Naturopathic Practitioner and founder of BraveWorksRN. After working in the ER and ICU, Joel knew there had to be a better and more natural way to reduce blood pressure and heart attack risks. As you move beyond 40, have you noticed movements you used to do in your 20s and 30s are more difficult? You probably don't want to admit to it, you're not alone. The brain and the body do not connect like they used to.
In this episode I talk about how you can work on advanced motor control to make tasks like hauling and holding your groceries while unlocking the front door at the same time, easier. Building strength, coordination, and stability require your brain and body working together as a unit. I'll tell you about specific exercise to help you be better at your daily tasks.

You look at the cold plunge, think about taking a cold shower, or ponder sitting in your tub filled with ice and cold water. None of those feel pleasant, and you're not sure if you want to even stick your pinky toe in! Yet, you've watched, read, and/or listened to social media talk so highly about taking the plunge!
In this episode I go beyond what some influencers tell you about cold-water immersion, and into what the science says. What is the value of working with a professional in any industry? There are plenty of free videos on all the social media platforms telling you how to file taxes, install a toilet, and fix your car's transmission. In this episode I share information from a scientific report about the results people receive from working with a fitness professional compared to being on their own. I'm consistently asked by clients and members if they need to lift lighter weights and more reps, or heavier weights with lower reps. The typical reasons/excuses to not lifting heavy enough are that women don't want to look like men, and older adults don't want to get hurt. Do either apply to you?
In this episode I give you scientific evidence on why it's important to lift relatively heavy weights. Men and women of all ages need to lift a certain amount of weight to improve strength and functionality. Listen and learn how you can change your health and fitness with these mandatory tips.

My journey to becoming a fitness professional began long before 2008, I didn't know it at the time. The reasons I did push-ups and pull-ups in my room were not unusual for an 8th grader. Most early teen boys want to be bigger and stronger than the "popular" kids.
In this episode I go completely raw and unscripted sharing my secrets and being vulnerable with you about my workout origins. These vulnerabilities drove me to pursue an insecurity that became a career. It's probably not the story you think if you follow me on social media. Take a listen and maybe you can connect on a deeper level with me.
