As a child and adolescent, I played a variety of sports on both a recreational and travel team level. Each sport and season taught me different physical skills, and I made friends I would not have playing a single sport or no sports at all.
In this episode I discuss the importance playing sports has in the cognitive development of all youth. From conflict resolution to sportsmanship to social emotional learning, youth sports are more than physical fitness and getting out of the house on Saturday morning. Each sport offers its own type of learning that benefits kids throughout their lives.

Do you plan your stretching like your regular workouts? Flexibility, like strength training, requires a planned approach to improve your range of motion (ROM), reduce chronic pain, and reduce injury potential. Pro athletes treat their flexibility this way and get the results they need for their jobs. As a desk jockey, you also need to have a planned approach to overcome your pain and stiffness from sitting all day.
In this episode I talk about a targeted approach to stretching you can do regardless of your flexibility level now. By using these specific steps, you can feel better, have more energy for work and play, and reduce your chance of injuries in daily tasks.
